Natural Beauty Products? Why should you use them?

I've been reading a lot lately about the toxins that are present in so many products that we use everyday. These chemical toxins cause cancer, hairloss, skin irritation, kidney damage, eye damage, and even Altzheimer's Disease.

Check the labels on your shampoo, your body wash, your toothpaste, your makeup, check everything you put on your skin, hair, teeth, etc. All these things can be absorbed into your body and cause damage.

Here is a list of biggest offenders and the problems each can cause (numbers in parentheses indicates the source - see bottom of page):

Propylene Glycol - contact dermatitis; kidney damage; liver abnormalities; rashes; dry skin (#1); "propylene glycol causes a significant number of reactions and is a primary irritant to the skin even in low levels of concentration. (#2)

DEA or Diethanolamine - "clear evidence of cancer-causing or cancer-contributing activity" (#3)

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) - induces mutations in cells; corrodes hair follicles and impairs their ability to grow hair; impairs formation of young eyes causing permanent damage; can damage the immune system (#4)

Talc - chemically similar to asbestos; linked to post-operative peritonitis and fibrous adhesions (from the talc on sugical gloves!); on condoms may result in fallopian tube fibrosis and infertility (#5); possible tie between talcum powder and ovarian cancer (women who used talcum powder in the genital area had an increased ovarian cancer risk of 60% and women who used feminine deodorant sprays had a 90% increased risk) (#6)

Alcohol - Mouthwash containing an alcohol content above 25% has been linked to mouth, throat and tongue cancer (#7)
